Weekley blog: Roy Decarava by Troy

The photographer I chose too speak upon is photographer and author Roy Decarava.  Roy Decarava, was active as a photographer for most of his career but promintley in the Harlem Renaissance era.  During this time segregation was very relevant in the country but the Harlem Renaissance is embedded in history.  A time in which jazz also art was booming in that time period.  Roy Decarava, photographed this time but also just the ordinary lives of blacks.  This was a time when African Americans despite their limits still carried themselves with pride and dignity.  In which Decarava captured for people too always remember.
