Jared Polin is a professional photographer who seems to focus more on event photography and has done a few short bodies of work dealing with his personal life. Polin runs a YouTube channel on which he gives tips and advice. In the images from the series posted here, he documents his mothers struggle with cancer. He decided to document the happenings from the beginning to the end, and I can admire his bravery on tackling a subject that not only comes close to home, but is actually happening in front of him every day. The images in the series have somewhat of a family snapshot kind of feel to them, but this allows the viewer to experience the emotions happening in the photographs without a great deal of distracting lighting and processing. The images look natural and help to bring the series closer to the viewer's perspective. The fourth image down is of his grandmother who unfortunately had to see her daughter pass away.
