The photographer I chose for my weekly post is photographer Mel D. Cole. Mel D. Cole like photographer Mike Schreiber is self taught and got his start photographing concerts and events for musicians. Majority of his photographs are taken in black and white but the one thing I appreciate is how he mingles with the crowd. Mel D. Cole is not shy to get in the mix of people and capture the atmosphere of a musical event. Besides his concert photos he also has created a series of photographs based on Barney the dinosaur. The models in the pictures are barley dressed but the humorous side of it is that they are hold guns while wearing the head of the costume. Mel D. Cole has also done work for Rollingstone, Complex magazine, and Levi.
