Paho Mann's series Junk Drawers are photos of peoples junk drawers, set up against a black background. All photos are shot in the same manner, the drawers removed from the desk and photographed in a deadpan manner to show the inside contents.
Junk Drawers shows that even something as seemingly mundane as a drawer for a persons miscellaneous items can be interesting. Even the things we do not consider to be important show parts of our personalities in the same way as the things we do deem to be important, and this series illustrates this very well. The items in each drawer reveal parts of the owners personality just in the same way as if you were to photograph the items that they consider important in their lives. You could even say that the items in these drawers show more of an individuals personality than anything else, as since these drawers are not usually looked into by other people they could be seen as a place to put items that you would not want others to see.
