Andy Goldsworthy: Rivers and Tides

Andy Goldsworthy's photography involves rearranging and sculpting natural objects into new forms. These are almost always temporary, so the photograph exists as the only permanent proof that these sculptures existed.
Part of what the reason these photographs appeal to me is it's almost like photographing a  firework. These forms are carefully constructed, and are only complete for a brief moment to be photographed, then disappear. I also think that these photographs have excellent color qualities. These natural objects that are used both appear out of place, due to their arrangement, and yet they seem to fit right in as well, since they were derived from the surrounding area. It is an incredible combination of sculpture and photography.
