Weekly Post: Chris Buck by Jessica Fee

This series is called "(Un)common Portraits" by Chris Buck. Chirs Buck is a Canadian born photographer known for his distinctive portraits. Some words that Esquire's Art Director has used to describe Buck's work are mysterious, conceptual, and sometimes unfathomable. His biography on his website is rather amusing saying that, "Chris Buck has been featured in numerous industry annuals, including Photo District News, the American Photography book and Communication Arts. Despite these achievements, he is still allergic to shrimp."

His portraits are a combination of natural light and/or off-camera lighting. All of his portraits are set up and he thinks and plans every portrait before going to photograph them. They are all conceptual and depending on what he photographs them for, like the Esquire or The New Yorker, they are precise ideas to describe what his photographs go with in the magazine.
