Weekly Post, Todd Hido by Alli

These photos from Todd Hido are from series from homes at night, interiors, and landscapes. His interior photographs are taken with a very muted tone and colors. The colors are desaturated and have a very empty mood to them. His compositions are simple with the subjects taking up majority of the frame and a very well use of light and shadows. His photographs taken outside also have very drastic light and shadows. The photos are also very soft with a deep depth of field. These and the rest from the series contain no people, as opposed to one with the back of a persons head.
The photos from inside empty homes are taken inside homes that had been foreclosed. The other interior photo was taken inside an occupied home, but the way he photographs these still give you the same isolated and lonely feeling.
