Weekly Post: Frank Relle by Jessica Fee

http://www.frankrelle.com

Frank Relle discovered the beginning of this series' work through nightly drives driving his grandmother's 1986 Lincoln Town Car in New Orleans. This series is shot from 2004 to the present and are lit to capture the mood from the same perspective of his low riding car. Relle leaves room for the viewer's interpretations to surface in each photograph.

Recently I have been practicing with night time photography and found that Relle's work is compelling and taken in an articulate way. Clearly his photographs are taken using a tripod and a long exposure, to allow the ambient light from the street lights, and/or lights from the homes to fill the photograph.
